Our Smart Nation drive started as early as the Year 2000, as early as 20yrs ago.

From that point, if all the ITEs and Polys had started enrolling massive numbers of our own Singaporeans into IT courses, to prepare them to meet the needs of a Smart Nation, would we be in this situation today?

Did this happen overnight that we suddenly wake up to find the whole world including SG is short of IT talents?

Where did we go wrong?

Why did we not anticipate this situation?
